Subject: “Be Holy, Be Perfect”, Its A Command

Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 1: 13 – 25

Memory Verses: 1 Peter 1: 15 & 16


Objective: To alert believers to the fact that holiness is NOT an option.


1. How is man made perfect? 1 Peter 1: 3 – 7


2. Is there biblical evidence that man had attain this standard? Job 1: 1, Luke 1: 5 & 6, Hebrews 11: 13 – 16


Note: Being perfect speaks to the blameless, set apart, Christ-like life one must live daily. Each individual must desire to live righteously under any circumstance. As long as we are in this body we will be tempted to sin. Where we commit an offence, we hasten to ask for forgiveness and continue walking in holiness.


3. With whom does the process of holiness and perfection begin? Psalm 51: 5 & 6, 16 & 17


4. State how we can equip ourselves to meet this standard. 1 Timothy 4: 8 – 16


5. What is our responsibility to each other while we journey to perfection? 1 Thessalonians 5: 23 – 24


6. State Paul’s desire for us regarding achieving this standard? Hebrews 10: 19 – 31


Conclusion: We must realize that for us to enter God’s kingdom we must live by His command. To be holy and perfect is not impossible but it requires constant hard work with trust in the God of Israel. Let us now do all that is humanly possible to attain God’s standard.
