Objective: To bring us to the consciousness that God delights in the meek and lowly and those who do not seek to elevate themselves.
1. What does James consider a prerequisite for spiritual success? James 4: 10; what does Job 22: 29 say?
2. How did Moses, a trained prince of Egypt, consider himself when commissioned by God? Exodus 3: 9 – 11 & 4: 10; and how did subsequent actions set him apart from most men? Numbers 14: 11 - 20
3. Was this same trait evident in the shepherd boy who was elevated to a king? 1 Chronicles 17: 4, 11, 12 & 16 - 20 (note verse 16)
4. In acknowledging their inadequacies, what was done for Isaiah and Jeremiah? Isaiah 6: 1 - 8; Jeremiah 1: 1 - 10
5. Zeal was a present component in the lives of those biblical giants we admire today. How is this brought out in Numbers 14: 24; 1 Kings 19: 19 - 21; Daniel 3: 16 - 18 & 6: 10
6. Procrastination or laxity was never featured in the lives of successful men and women. With what urgency did Abraham respond to some very challenging commands from God? Genesis 12: 1 - 5 & 22: 1 - 3. How precise were the actions of both Elijah and the widow? 1 Kings 17: 2 - 6, 8 - 10 & 13 - 16
7. What is said of those who possess and display these admirable characteristics? 2 Peter 1: 8; Hebrews 11: 39 & 40
