Objective: To recognize that our actions have consequences.
1. How does the bible define sin? 1 John 3: 4; 5: 17
Note: Generally speaking, any form of transgression of God’s law is sin. However, there are some sins that incur the wrath of God like no other. This type of sin, causes unbelievers to blaspheme, meaning they disrespect, dishonour and disregard God, reasoning to themselves that if His chosen can commit such acts, then their God is not so holy after all.
2. How did David commit one such sin and what was the consequence? 2 Samuel 11: 2 – 5, 14 – 17 & 12: 10 – 12
3. Even though David genuinely grieved and repented, did that change the outcome? 2 Samuel 12: 13 – 19 & 16: 20 – 23
4. How did Eli’s two sons cause God’s reputation to be brought into question? 1 Samuel 2: 12 – 17; and what was determined against his household? 1 Samuel 3: 10 – 14
