Scripture Readings: Job 40: 1 – 5 & 42: 1 – 6
Memory Verse: Job 13: 15
Objective: To be able to display the correct attitude while faced with adversity.
1. How did God speak of Moses? Numbers 12: 5 – 8 & Deuteronomy 10: 10 – 12
2. When Moses disobeyed God’s command, He did not ‘turn a blind eye’. What were the circumstances surrounding both sin and punishment? Numbers 20: 7 – 12
3. Even though Moses pleaded with God (Deuteronomy 3: 23 – 25), How did God’s decision stand? Deuteronomy 3: 26 & 34: 1 – 8
Note: Nowhere is it recorded that Moses turned away in anger or that he refused to obey any further command from God. He still regarded God as sovereign, forgiving and full of mercy.
4. Job suffered what is considered to be the greatest affliction placed on any individual. How is he spoken of in Job 1: 1 – 5? From whom did Satan seek permission to test Job? Job 1: 6 – 12 & Job 2: 1 – 10
5. How did Job acknowledge God’s will throughout his ordeal? Job 1: 20 – 22, 13: 15
6. As stewards of God, what are we to expect on this journey? 1 Peter 4: 1 – 6
7. What lessons may be learnt in 1 Peter 4: 12 – 19?
