Objective: To understand how to behave in disappointing times.


1. What must the saints expect at this time? 2 Corinthians 4: 11


2. Though our problems may seem tough to us, what does Paul call them? 2 Corinthians 4: 17


3. Why must we exercise faith in times of misfortune? Hebrews 10: 34 – 35; and how does Peter comfort the children of God during trying times? 1 Peter 4: 12 – 14


4. What is God’s promise to us when our expectations are not met? Psalm 38: 7, Proverbs 24: 16, Psalm 37: 23 – 24


Note: The road to eternal life is not without obstacles, uneven surfaces, speed bumps, potholes, open trenches, broken bridges, and accidents with casualties. All these does not prevent God from helping us to navigate the terrain and comfort us to during these difficulties.


5. What assurance do we receive when we become disappointed? Psalm 31: 24, Psalm 34: 19 & 22, Hebrews 13: 5 – 6


6. Despite your disappointment, what must be borne in mind? 1 Thessalonians 5: 16 – 18


7. Instead of worrying about failures, what should we do and how will God help in these times? 1 Peter 5:7, Philippians 4: 6 & 19
