Subject: Our Response to God’s Words

Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 42 & 43: 1 – 7

Memory Verses: Jeremiah 42: 19 & 43: 7

Objective: To bring awareness to our responses when God speaks to us, so we don’t become rebellious thus leading to rejection.

1. What request did God’s people of old make which is similar to requests we have made? Jeremiah 42: 1 – 3

2. What was their initial response? Jeremiah 42: 5 – 6

3. Identify the vessels that God will sometimes use to give His words? Jeremiah 44: 4, Luke 16: 27 – 31

4. Sadly, when we reject the words the servants and/or Ministers of God give what is it that we are really doing? 1 Samuel 8: 6 – 9

5. When the message came to Coniah, what was the response from him, what did the Lord say of him and what is the plea that is constantly been made? Jeremiah 22: 20 – 30 (note verses 20 – 21 and 30)

6. What was God’s case about Judah and Jerusalem? Isaiah 1: 10 – 15; 3: 8 and what are we encouraged to do and why? Isaiah 1: 16 – 20

Note: Sadly, sometimes we only refer to responses as things said rather than things thought or our actions. We should be cognizant that our actions carry similar and at times more weight that what we say. Let us be children of God in words and deeds, as a record is being taken and we must give an account, whether our deeds be good or evil.

7. What should we bear in mind daily? Psalm 19: 14
