Objective:To show us how willing, ready and able Jesus is to forgive and restore us.


1. Seemingly disappointed in himself, how did Peter react after Christ died? John 21: 1 - 3


2. How was it shown that Christ, who knows the heart of every man, had already made provision for Peter’s “fresh start”? Mark 16: 5 - 7; John 21: 4 - 12


3. While it is not a sin to feel discouraged, it is dangerous to linger in that state. How are we encouraged to seek help? Psalm 86: 3 – 6 & 15 - 16


4. Why should we not hesitate in seeking help? Philippians 1: 6; John 14: 13 & 14


5. What are some individual actions that are necessary for a “fresh start”? Luke 15 (first parts of verses 17, 18 & 20); Matthew 17: 19 - 21


6. What was uppermost in David’s mind when he cried out for spiritual renewal? Psalm 51: 7 - 13; and what work was there for Peter? John 21: 15 – 17


7. Even when faced with death, our loving Saviour still extended His grace and mercy to the penitent. What does doctor Luke have to say on the matter? Luke 23: 35 - 43
