Subject: A Word to the Wise

Scripture Reading: Revelations 3: 14 – 22

Memory Verse: Revelations 3: 19

Objective: To reinstate the vitality of the church through wise counsels.

1. What harsh measure was sent to the Laodiceans by God, who has infinite awareness and knowledge of man's doing? Revelations 3: 14 – 16

2. In what way was the church deceived into thinking that it was doing well and what was the harsh reality? Verse 17

Note: The Laodicean era depicts the church of today with modern buildings, musical instruments, improved economic conditions, changes of apparel and much ‘modern talk’. The church today is self-satisfied with no zeal for righteousness and the glory of God has departed from it.

3. Isaiah described one such period in his day, how was it, how were the daughters of Zion specifically spoken of and what would be their judgement? Isaiah 3: 1 – 9, 12 – 26

4. What woes were pronounced upon those who remained complacent? Revelation 3: 16; Isaiah 5: 20 – 25

5. A lack of heart service made worship then and now superficial and vain. How did God respond to this? Isaiah 1: 11 – 15; Revelation 3: 16 – 17, and what was His counsel? Isaiah 1: 16 – 20; Revelation 3: 18 – 20

6. Were many saved in Isaiah’s days? Isaiah 1: 9. What is Christ’s last words to His church before making His return? Revelation 3: 19
