Subject: Blessings Await a Heart that is Prepared

Scripture Readings: 1 Chronicles 15: 11 – 15 & 25 - 29

Memory Verse: Psalm 19: 14


Objective: To heighten the awareness of the importance of having a consecrated heart.


Note: God does not give credit for service offered irreverently, no matter how splendid the occasion. To obtain the blessings, God requires heart service. That means doing God’s will, His way and for His glory.


1. In their second attempt to return the ark to the city of David, what spiritual and physical preparation was made? 1 Chronicles 15: 11 – 14


2. When God’s will is carried out according to His command, what is the result? 1 Chronicles 15: 25 – 28 & 16: 1 – 4


3. While David engaged the congregation in worship as they brought up the ark, what is said of the meditation of His wife’s heart? 1 Chronicles 15: 29, 2 Samuel 6: 15 – 16; and because she did not prepare her heart for a blessing, what did she receive? 2 Samuel 6: 20 – 23
