Subject: God’s Judgment is Sure

Scripture Reading: 2 Peter 3: 1 – 18

Memory Verse: 2 Peter 2: 9

Objective: To remind us that God’s judgment is sure, whether we believe it or not.

1. Does God have a set time for the judgment of the world? Acts 17: 31

Note: Judgment, in simple term, is the act of deciding or passing decision on something. It is the act of judging skillfully, fairly and wisely – that is, justice given according to one’s deeds.

2. Which cities are set as examples of the impending judgment? 2 Peter 2: 6

Note: These cities were destroyed and the place where they were located shows that God’s judgment on man, for their disobedience and ungodly deeds, is complete and final. There is no vestige of a living thing where these cities once stood. The water there is so salty, that unlike other bodies of water, no life can exist in it. It then means that we need to change and live a holy life in order to escape the wrath of God.

3. Who will avoid the everlasting burning? Isaiah 33: 14 – 15

4. Will the final judgment mean complete destruction for the wicked? Malachi 4: 1 – 3, Obadiah 1: 16, Ezekiel 38: 22

5. Will the wicked who have died escape? John 5: 28 – 29

6. What will be the fate of all the sinners? Revelation 20: 15, 21: 8

7. Is it profitable for us to know about the pending judgment, and why? 2 Peter 3: 17
