Subject: It Is a Fearful Thing

Scripture Reading: Genesis 7

Memory Verses: Hebrews 10: 30 – 31

Objective: To remind believers to constantly review their lives.

1. To what extent did early man grieve his Creator? Genesis 6: 5 – 7

2. From all accounts given in the scriptures, God has never destroyed without warning. Is it scriptural to say that Noah's generation was not also warned? 2 Peter 2: 1 – 8

3. Describe the scene being played out in Genesis 7: 17 – 24?

Note: To visualize what took place as recorded in these verses is not for the faint of heart. Seeing that similar destruction is predicted for those who continue to rebel, it would be wise to take heed.

4. Similarly, how severe will the coming judgment be for the disobedient? Revelation 16: 8 – 11; Luke 23: 28 – 31

5. What are the signs pointing to the nearness of these calamities? Luke 17: 26 – 30

Note: When one follows the direction on a map, there are markings to indicate one’s current location. If one is on a familiar route, there are some significant landmarks that will give a sense of direction on the journey. The happenings of today should indicate to us where we are in relation to the pending judgment.

6. What are some of the warnings from our brethren who have gone on before? Hebrews 2: 1 – 4, 10: 26 – 31; 2 Corinthians 13: 5; 1 Corinthians 10: 11 – 13 & 2 Peter 1: 10 – 11

7. How does Ezekiel make this same appeal? Ezekiel 33: 7 – 16
