Subject: A Reminder to Zion’s Daughter

Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 2: 1 - 14

Memory Verses: 1 Peter 2: 9 - 10

 

Objective: To impress upon us that the light of every nation depends on Zion’s light.

 

1.     How admirably did God think of His covenant people when they were first espoused to Him? Jeremiah 2: 1 - 3, 21a; And what vow did they make then? Jeremiah 2: 20b

 

2.     Having raised up this ‘beloved nation’, what divine charter was given to them, and what was God’s expectation of them? Romans 3: 1 - 2, Deuteronomy 4: 5 - 8

 

3.     What circumstances changed the relationship between God and His chosen? Jeremiah 2: 4 - 8; And how were they now described? Jeremiah 2: 21b - 23

 

4.     4.   What does our Heavenly Father always offer to His children? Jeremiah 3: 22 - 25

 

5.     Knowing that the church today would be called to carry out a similar mission, what warning is left on record for us? 1 Corinthians 10: 1 - 13, 2 Corinthians 6: 14 – 18

 

6.     Despite the many warnings, what are some comparable hindrances to spiritual growth both then and now? 1 Corinthians 3: 1 - 9, 1 Corinthians 5: 1 - 2, 2 Timothy 3: 1 - 7; And why is it fatal to disregard God’s warnings? Proverbs 1:20 - 30
