Warm Up

Have you ever been somewhere new and felt nervous? Have you ever felt alone?

Did you know God is always with you wherever you go? How does it make you feel knowing God is always with you?

The word omnipresent means that God is everywhere at the same time. We cannot see Him with our eyes, but He is always near us.

Questions

1. When man first sinned, what did he attempt to do? Genesis 3:8; and what did he not take into consideration? Proverbs 15:3, Hebrews 4:13, Jeremiah 23:23-24

2. What did Hagar say of God in her affliction? Genesis 16:6-13

3. Note: There is no place that one can hide from the presence of God to lead and hold the believer in times of crisis and nowhere too dark for him to see. Some who tried to hide or run from God’s presence (Adam, Jonah) comes from guilt or a desire to be free. David says the night and day are alike unto God. Where can we go from his presence-whether in hell or the uttermost part of the sea, he is there. Think about it: you are trapped somewhere and no one can find you; God’s presence is there.

8. Conclusion: Now reflecting on the reminder that we are always in God's presence we should be careful of what we watch (Job 31:1), eat (Isaiah 65:4), what we say (Psalm 139:4), where we do (Psalm 139:11) and what we go (Job 34:21).
