What Goes Around Comes Around

Subject: What Goes Around Comes Around
Scripture: Joshua 2:1-21
Memory Verse: Matthew 7:12
Objective: To remind us that the seed we sow will be reaped one day.
Warm Up
“Ripple Effect”
How to Play:
Have everyone stand in a circle (or sit if space is limited).
Give one teen a soft ball (or any small object).
Explain:
“When you toss the ball, you’ll share a small action someone might do.”
The first teen tosses the ball and says an action, for example:
“Helping a new student”
“Lying to avoid trouble”
“Standing up for a friend”
“Ignoring someone in need”
The person who catches the ball must quickly say a possible result of that action, then toss it to someone else with a new action.
Debrief
Ask:
Were some actions harder to find results for?
Did any small actions have big outcomes?
Transition
“Today, we’re going to look at a story where one risky choice didn’t just come back around—it changed everything.”

Activity
Cause & Effect Chain
How it works:
1. Divide teens into small groups.
Give each group a strip of paper (or whiteboard space).
Ask them to map Rahab’s story as a chain:
o Rahab hides the spies → Spies are protected → Spies promise safety → Rahab and family are saved
Then ask groups to create a modern-day example of the same principle (e.g., helping someone, spreading rumors, standing up for a friend).
Discussion prompt:
How did Rahab’s actions come back to her?
Can good or bad choices have long-term effects we don’t expect?
