Assessing The Extent of Our Beliefs

Subject: Assessing The Extent of Our Beliefs

Scripture Reading: Acts 5: 12 - 29

Memory Verses: Daniel 3: 16 - 18

Objective: To review the lives of others of like passion and faith and the choices they made at some critical times in their lives.

  1. In the greatest tests of their lives, Abraham, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego believed and trusted God regardless of the outcome of their actions. How is this borne out? Hebrews 11: 17 - 19; Daniel 3: 16 - 18

  1. God Himself made the distinction between Caleb and Joshua and the other children of Israel. What did He say it takes to believe and trust Him without reservation? Numbers 14: 20 - 24; Numbers 32: 11 & 12

  1. What do the scriptures tell of the extent to which others in our dispensation trusted and believed God? Acts 4: 18 - 22; 5: 12 - 29

  1. How was the limitless confidence and hope that Stephen placed in the God proven and how glorious was his defense of it? Acts 6: 8 - 15; Acts 7: 54 - 60

  1. In addition to being a prisoner both spiritually and literally how does Acts 21: 10 - 15 and Acts 27: 1 & 2, 9 - 11 & 14 - 25 testify to the enduring steadfastness of this apostle?

  1. Having first-hand knowledge of the suffering many endured and that will also be borne by others, what prayers were made for us in Ephesians 3: 14 - 21 & Colossians 1: 9 - 13?

  1. In understanding that Revelation 6: 9 - 11 has not yet been fulfilled totally what reminders should we be thankful for? Proverbs 24: 10; 1 Corinthians 10: 12 & 13

Note: All those characters that we studied had a choice so before we grade ourselves here is another worthwhile consideration, “And let us remember in running this race that faith is not feeling and trust is not trace, but when all around us seems dark as the night we will keep on believing and win in this fight.”
