Subject: Honouring the Source Above the Blessing

Scripture Reading: Psalm 107: 1 - 13

Memory Verses: Luke 1: 46 -47       


Objective: To impress on the hearts of believers that every praise belongs to our God.


1.     How did David show his appreciation to the source of all blessings? 2 Samuel 7: 12, 13 & 18 - 29

 

2.     ⁠ What was Hannah’s reaction when the request for a child was granted? 1 Samuel 2: 1 - 10

 

3.     ⁠Upon hearing that she, a young virgin, would give birth to the Christ, how wonderfully did Mary express her gratitude? Luke 1: 30 - 35 & 46 - 55

Note: As people of God, we cannot want the blessings but not the blesser, the healing not the healer, the provision but not the provider, life and not the life giver, health but not the healer, comfort and not the comforter, and the deliverance and not the deliverer. It does not work like that; it’s a package deal. We cannot just love God’s hand, but we must also love His heart. Our worship should be to the source. We serve the creator not the things created. Let us look in our lives and praise God. (borrowed) Worship Him in the beauty of holiness. He deserves the glory, honor and praise for all His wonderful blessings towards the children of men.
