Let No Man Deceive You

Subject: Let No Man Deceive You

Scripture Reading: Colossians 2

Memory Verse: Colossians 2: 8

Objective: To acknowledge the importance of exercising vigilance to the very end.

1.       John, in Revelation 1: 3, pronounced a blessing on all who read, understand and keep God’s words. From whom do we get the ability to do all three? Psalm 119: 33 & 34

2.       How did the writers of the gospel remind us that religious deception is the deadliest of all the atrocities slated for the last days? Matthew 24: 3 - 5, Mark 13: 22, Luke 21: 7 & 8

3.       How early did this deception begin to manifest itself? Matthew 28: 11 - 15, Acts 8: 9 - 13 & 18 - 23

4.       What is said of deceivers in these final days? 2 John 7 - 8

5.       Why is vigilance stressed in this time? 1 Peter 5: 8, Titus 1: 10 - 16

6.       How can we avoid being deceived? 1 Timothy 4: 6 - 16, 2 Timothy 2: 14 - 19

7.       What will be the fate of the deceiver, the deceived, and those who stand firm to the end? Revelation 19: 19 - 21, Revelation 20: 4 - 6

Conclusion: To be forewarned is to be forearmed. Christ, the only Messiah, clearly informs us of this deadly deception. As it draws closer to the end of the age this deception is being amplified. All available media avenues, that is, social, print, radio and television, have already been corrupted with this deception either subtly or blatantly. Our constant dwelling in the words of God, obedience to His command, and humility will reduce the risk of, and eventually prevent us from, being deceived.

Something to think about: Consider your position before God – one who is seeking for a space in His kingdom after being spoiled through deception.
