Pleasing God

Subject: Pleasing God

Scripture Reading: Luke 19: 1 - 27

Memory Verse: Philippians 1: 27

Objective: To emphasize the importance of living a life that is acceptable and pleasing unto God.

1.     What must every individual do in order to enter the Kingdom of God, and is there any other way to salvation? John 3: 5, John 10: 1 - 2 & 9, Acts 4: 12

2.     What does God expect from those who profess to be His children, and what kind of fruit should our lives produce? Matthew 3: 10, Matthew 7: 19

3.     How does the Scripture reveal God’s patience and mercy toward mankind? Luke 13: 6 - 9

Note: God graciously gives us opportunities to repent, grow, and bear good fruit worthy of His name. His patience should never be mistaken for approval of wrongdoing, but rather as a chance for transformation.

4.     What warning is given to those who refuse to yield fully to the Lord? Daniel 5: 27, Matthew 8: 10 - 12, Romans 11: 17 - 20

5.     What incident brought great fear upon the early church, and what lesson does it teach us about sincerity before God? Acts 5: 4 - 11

6.     What should the children of God strive for in order to remain steadfast and pleasing before Him? 1 Corinthians 9: 25, Titus 2: 12 - 14

7.     What promises are given to those who overcome and remain faithful to the end? Revelation 2: 17, 26 - 28, Revelation 3: 5, 14 - 16
