Put On Your Garment of Praise

Subject: Put On Your Garment of Praise

Scripture Reading: Psalm 145

Memory Verse: Psalm 147: 1

Objective: To show forth the benefits of giving unconstrained praise to God.

  1. What is said about praise? Psalm 147: 1, and to whom is this suitable? Psalm 33: 1

  1. David, when he considered all God had done, could not restrain himself. What was his expression according to Psalm 103: 1 - 8 and 2 Samuel 6: 14? Knowing this, how should our praise be when we give it unto God? Psalm 66: 1 - 2

  1. Why should believers be clothed with praise? Isaiah 61: 10 - 11

  1. After giving counsel to the congregation, what instruction was given to the people and how did they follow suit? 1 Chronicles 29: 20

  1. Should believers be actively engaged in praising God? Psalm 30: 12; Psalm 34: 1 - 3; Psalm 71: 8, and how can believers praise God? Psalm 33: 2 - 3; Psalm 47: 1; Psalm 150: 3 - 5

  1. How does the scripture show that we are not praising God blindly or for naught? Matthew 18: 20

  1. After experiencing great deliverance from God, how did a set of people show forth praise unto God? Exodus 15: 20 - 21

  1. When we put on our garment of praise we will connect to God as we are drawn to the presence of His Holy Spirit. In what ways can believers connect to God? Psalm 95: 1 - 5

Note: When it comes to praising God, let us not do so as if we are serving a sun god or god of wood. Be reminded we are serving the true and living God who inhabits our praise. With praise comes a great benefit so let joy accompany your praise. Let rejoicing accompany your praise. Live a life of holiness during the week and enter God’s sanctuary clothed with praise so that we can touch and agree with the hosts of heaven.
